Things That Get Noticed

Things that resolve a pain point

We all know that people and businesses make purchases to fix a problem. Sometimes people don't recognise that they have the particular "pain" that your product solves, so you need to point out the problem.

Your solution to the problem might not even involve anything new - it could just be a reorganisation of what you already sell.

For example, why don't supermarkets sell dental floss next to corn on the cob?

Making things easier

Wouldn't it be great if, when entering a car park, you could see immediately where you'd find a free space? Wouldn't you mention that to your friends? I certainly would.

Making life easier for people is something worth talking about, and for a business, will save time and money.

Stuff that's "cool"

When I found out that I could work on a Google Sheets document at the same time as my colleague, and I could see which cell on the spreadsheet he was editing, I was very excited - I know, I need to get out more.

However, it's a cool feature that I've mentioned to many other people - and look, I'm writing up about it now too.

How can you replicate?

Think about how your products or services are used by your customers.

How do they benefit?

What problems are fixed?

How could you reorganise products so that people buy more?

What could you add that people might talk about?

Answer these questions, and similar ones, and your "word of mouth" marketing campaign will develop all by itself.
