Content writing tips

TypewriterYou've writtent great content; it's full of detail, examples and interest; but people are just not reading it.

We're all guilty of getting enthusiastic over subjects that interest us. This is a good thing. Where you need to be careful is in getting your enthusiasm across in a way that's going to come across in an easily digestible fashion to your target audience.

Content writing tips

Here's a few tips that should go a long way to improving your content.

Keep it short - people don't want to read large volumes; they just want to get the idea. If they're interested they'll ask for more.

Use headings - carefully written headings enable your readers to get the gist of your page without much effort.

Use plain English - jargon and acronyms are a real turn-off for the uninitiated.

Don't condescend - jargon is bad, but be aware that some readers will be aware of the concepts you're discussing.

Talk to your reader - address site visitors directly.

Stick to your subject - don't confuse people by going off on tangents.
